is a thrash metal/power groove band

Nitemare Hippie Children

Where they started...

Originally formed by high school friends, the band has seen a few line up changes over the years.

The first official formation of the band came together on Anthony Nite’s 21st birthday when the original members were at a strip club - a fitting beginning. That original line up of Anthony Nite, Josh Bryant, Marcus Ramirez, and Jonny Ups rehearsed and wrote songs for over a year, but never played a show.

A slight line up change on bass would see Anthony’s brother, "Lodi", come into the mix and the band started playing house shows on the local circuit.

Line up changes would again come into play when Johnny Ups started a family and no longer had time for music.

Enter Kurin Kittoe on drums. A different style than Jonny, but still had a proper groove that fit the band's style well.

The line up of Anthony, Josh B , Lodi and Kurin would go on to play many shows in the local scene.

Another Addition...

After sharing the stage numerous times with local legends, STUX, their guitar player, Ian Honeyager, asked to join the band as a second guitar player, and so that pursued.

A tale of two drummers...

Eventually, Jonny Ups showed interest in jamming again. Not wanting to remove Kurin from the band, they decided to do something unusual that had never been done before - and that’s have two drummers in the band. Each drummer brought a unique style that offered up a wide range of writing ability for the band.

This new two drummer, two guitar player line up saw the band become a regular on the local Madison, WI area music scene.

With these current members, they recorded their first album, “Corruption of the Ameriwhore”.

More Line Up Changes...

After a couple years, Kurin decided to pursue other interests and became the lead singer for a local cover band.

The band also saw a change in vocalist as original singer, Josh Bryant, moved out-of-state. He was replaced by Josh Oftedahl, who remains the lead singer of the group to this day.

That version of Anthony, Josh O., Ian, Lodi, and Jonny Ups would last another four years before the band ultimately came to and end, and all the members pursued other interests.

Where They Are Now...

Fast forward to January 2018 - a random out of the blue message from Kurin to Anthony about jamming again would be the rebirth of the band. Josh Oftedahl also rejoined the band as vocalist. After many failed attempts to find a bass player, long time friend, Brandon Smith, would offer up his services. This new version of the band was set in stone and they began to hit the local circuit again.

Pushed heavily by the influence of the late, great Greg Dellman, the band began to play out regularly, carving a name for themselves throughout Wisconsin.

In 2024 the band would record the EP “Death by Stereo” at SourceTrack Studio with "the wizard", David Pietila.

In 2025-26 they would re-enter the studio to record their full length album “The New Human Disease”.

Nitemare Hippie Children continues to play shows throughout Wisconsin and its neighboring states. They have opened up for, or have been local support to, many national acts over the years.

With over 200 career shows played and two albums released, the band brings a tight, ferocious atmosphere to any stage they play.
